Welcome to Beanstitute

COFFEE LOVERS,
OFFERING INTERNATIONAL COFFEE EDUCATION
TO EAST AFRICANS
Who We Are
Beanstitute was founded in 2016 as a centre for coffee culture advancement, education and linkage. This was after working with farmers across East Africa and realizing that despite coffee being a major contributor to world’s economy, the local consumption of the product is at a base minimum, with coffee producers being non- consumers of their produce. Youthful generation on the other hand perceive coffee farming as a loss making venture, forcing them to prefer white collar jobs. With this fact, producers don’t really know what goes on in making a good cup of coffee and the youth miss out on the numerous opportunities that have been brought about by coffee farming. This is the knowledge that Beanstitute is bringing to not just the producers, but also to entrepreneurs, baristas, and coffee lovers among others.
In an effort of support and promote
coffee culture in Kenya, Beanstitute, as a
strategic partner of Fair Trade
Organization of Kenya (FTOK) has
identified the need to set up a coffee
training institute that will offer training
on various coffee programs including:
• Barista skills
• Brewing
• Green coffee
• Sensory skills
• Q grader training and testing
• Coffee logistics
• Coffee Marketing
• Coffee trading including pr ice risk
management
• Coffee Cooperative Management
